REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP)

2025-2026 Continuing Education Content, Courses, and Workshops for Montessori Educators and School Administrators in Canada.

Montessori Canada/CCMA invites proposals for the development and delivery of high-quality continuing education content, courses, and/or workshops designed to support the professional growth of Montessori educators and school administrators across Canada. The selected proposals will address the evolving needs of the Montessori community and align with Montessori principles, while fostering excellence in Montessori teaching at all levels, and leadership practices in Montessori schools.

Montessori Canada/CCMA fosters excellence in Montessori education through accreditation, support, and service, and unites the Montessori community to promote, advance, and deliver high-quality Montessori education for children across Canada. The CCMA was founded in 1977 and in 2024 enhanced and evolved its mandate to include support and services to educators and families. Click here to watch a video to learn more about our events.

Scope of RFP

Montessori Canada/CCMA seeks proposals in the following areas:

  • Continuing Education for Montessori Administrators
      • Leadership in the Montessori environment such as leading using Montessori principles, staying true to Montessori principles, educational leadership, etc.
      • Higher education (e.g. Master of Education in Montessori, etc.) 
      • Strategic planning, risk management and succession planning
      • Governance, management and business best practices
      • Strategies for navigating regulatory and funding frameworks, including CWELCC
      • Community engagement and advocacy
      • Best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Continuing Education for Montessori Educators
      • Innovations in Montessori teaching methods and strategies such as extensions in subject areas; e.g. reading support, writing development, science discoveries, etc.
      • Communication; e.g. difficult conversations, working with parents, working with co-teachers or assistant teachers, etc.
      • Integration of Indigenous perspectives and cultural competencies
      • Advances in child development research such as social-emotional learning, neuroscience, etc.
      • Incorporation of technology in Montessori environments
      • Incorporation of music enhancement (energize, inspire and foster the love of culture and music in the classroom)
      • Incorporation of nature studies outside of the classroom 
      • Higher education (e.g. Master of Education in Montessori, etc.) 

Note: Proposals for content in both English and/or French language are encouraged.

Proposal Requirements

Each proposal must include the following:

  1. Topic(s): A clear description of the topic(s) to be addressed and the relevance to Montessori educators at each level and/or administrators.
  2. Delivery Method(s): Specify the proposed delivery method(s), such as in-person workshops, webinars, hybrid formats, or online self-paced courses. Note any technical requirements including; room set up, podiums, audio/visual equipment, etc.
  3. Timing and Duration: Indicate the proposed timeline, duration of each session, and overall schedule.
  4. Costs: Provide a detailed breakdown of costs, including facilitator fees, materials, and other related expenses.
  5. Presenter/Instructor Qualifications: Include the qualifications, experience, and expertise of all proposed presenters or instructors. Highlight their familiarity with Montessori education and/or child development.
  6. Evaluation Methods: Outline the methods for assessing participant engagement and learning outcomes.

Selection Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based on the following:

  • Alignment with Montessori principles and priorities.
  • Relevance and applicability of the proposed content.
  • Innovation and creativity in delivery methods.
  • Qualifications and experience of presenters/instructors.
  • Feasibility and cost-effectiveness.

Submission Process

All proposals must be submitted electronically to Montessori Canada/CCMA by March 31, 2025. Please include “2025-2026 Continuing Education Proposal” in the subject line. Late submissions will not be considered.  Kindly limit proposals to a maximum of 3 pages.

Adjudication Process

Proposals will be reviewed by the Montessori Canada/CCMA (Board of Directors and staff) through a structured adjudication process. All applicants will receive a formal response regarding the outcome of their submission.

Applicants selected will be offered a service contract with Montessori Canada to deliver their proposed content, courses, or workshops commencing the 2025-2026 school year.
