YCC (Toddler) & Casa Programs + After Care Program

Are you passionate about working with children and seek a warm, respectful and collaborative work environment that embodies the Montessori philosophy? We need you to help shape & grow our brand new school and create a space where both children and adults enjoy being in every day.

Montessori on the Mountain is a labour of love and we are looking for positive, passionate, respectful, professional, humble and kind people to be part of our team. We are located inside St. John United Church in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. We currently offer YCC & Casa environments and hope to quickly expand.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with young children and making everyone feel welcome. The ideal candidate would be flexible and happy to help out where needed in the school. The ideal candidate would feel confident in developing programs for March Break & Summer Camps and the After Care program.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Montessori training and/or RECE is a strong asset (or willing to take Montessori training)
• Experience with Montessori philosophy is a strong asset
• Currently able to legally work in Canada
• Effective communication & interpersonal skills
• Passionate about working with children, kind-hearted and nurturing
• Experience working with children, along with deep respect for children and their development
• A positive attitude and a love of learning
• Current Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check
• Valid Standard First Aid certificate from a WSIB recognized provider, negative TB test & immunization records

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Uphold Montessori practices throughout the entire school
• Effective programming for March Break Camp, Summer Camp and After Care Program
• Maintain cleanliness of the school, prepare and deliver lunch and snacks to classrooms, wash dishes, bathroom supervision, help with covering breaks

Start Date:

• August 26, 2024

Compensation:

• Salary will depend on experience and training
• Provincial Wage Enhancement
• On-going Professional Development
• Discount on tuition for children of Staff
• 4 weeks paid vacation

Duration:

• On-going contract

Hours:

• Monday-Friday 9:00a.m. -5:00p.m.
