Casa & Elementary Guides

Starting: September 2025 (or sooner)

Head Start Montessori School is celebrating 20 years of education in the Montessori Community. Located in the heart of North York, Toronto, we provide authentic Montessori education for hundreds of children from the age of 9 month-9 years old.

Head Start Montessori is seeking a Lower Elementary Guide and Casa Guide for September 2025. This opportunity welcomes teachers from all walks of life.  The owners are Montessori trained Casa Guides and are looking forward to working together with a new colleague to bring shared experiences into the classroom, inspire the children and instill a love of learning!

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Elementary Guide

• Prepare a self-directed, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment for
  students, to meet their individual needs following the Lower Elementary
  Montessori pedagogy.
• Instilling joy of learning and curiosity
• Create, adapt and deliver lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students
• Maintain a positive and open line of communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
• Calm, yet able to inspire
• Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional strategies and student outcomes.
• Provide positive and respectful role modelling, displaying patience, kindness, and professionalism in all interactions.
• Effective classroom management skills, positive attitude, enthusiastic and loves to work with children

Casa Guide

• Instilling joy of learning and curiosity
• Ability to follow the child: Create, adapt and deliver lesson plans to meet the needs of students
• Maintain a positive and open line of communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
• Calm, yet able to inspire
• Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional strategies and student outcomes.
• Provide positive and respectful role modelling, displaying patience, kindness, and professionalism in all interactions.
• Effective classroom management skills, positive attitude, enthusiastic and loves to work with children

Qualifications and Requirements:

*AMI preferred training (or MACTE)

*Current Standard First Aid/CPR-C (or willing to obtain before starting)

*Current Vulnerable Screening Police Record Check (or willing to obtain before starting)

*Must be eligible to work in Canada
