Role: Community Administrator, Part-Time
Montessori Canada/The Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators (CCMA) fosters excellence in Montessori education through accreditation, support, and service, and unites the Montessori community to promote, advance, and deliver high-quality Montessori education for children across Canada. The CCMA was founded in 1977 by a group of school administrators committed to supporting each other and building awareness of what high-quality Montessori schools offer to families. In 2024, CCMA rebranded to Montessori Canada and enhanced and evolved its administrator focused mandate to include support and services for educators and families as well.
Montessori Canada seeks a Community Administrator (CA) to administer community services and provide exceptional operational support across the organization. Reporting to the Executive Director, the CA will have exceptional business administration, technology (including database management), client relations and communications expertise.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Community Administrator role is a new position within Montessori Canada. The CA role has been created as Montessori Canada seeks to enhance its national membership and strengthen the Montessori community across Canada. It is an exciting time to join the Montessori Canada team!
Montessori Canada’s important work is grounded in effective, efficient administration and operations and superior community relations. The CA role is responsible for administering all operational, financial, IT and administrative systems for Montessori Canada and supporting all community related activities.
EXPERIENCE
The following are required for this role:
●Intermediate level member, partner and stakeholder engagement experience obtained in a Montessori Canada Accredited school setting or in a not-for-profit environment.
●An understanding and an appreciation for the unique characteristics and complexities of Montessori schools.
●Proven background and experience in business administration, not-for-profit governance and operations, and superior client services.
SKILLS
●Excellent database management, financial and IT skills (including Quickbooks).
●Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google applications.
●Experience using social media for commercial purposes (Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
●Proficient with MS Teams, Zoom and other collaboration platforms.
●Exceptional relationship management skills.
●Excellent organizational skills and experience with program planning, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
●Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders.
●Disciplined, multi-faceted, organized individual with the flexibility to deal simultaneously with competing priorities.
●Direct, clear, consistent style, approachable and compassionate, a sense of humour.
●Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
●Self-directed, self-starter with the ability to manage time and priorities.
●Flexible scheduling and ability to work remotely.
GENERAL
As a key position within Montessori Canada, this role is an important contributor to the overall success of Montessori Canada. As such, additional expectations include:

●Undertaking other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

SCHEDULE AND LOCATION
Part-time (3 days/week), schedule flexibility and remote work available. Travel throughout Ontario and across Canada may be required on a to be determined and as needed basis.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary range $23 – $27/per hour. Compensation includes a comprehensive benefits package.
