Aurora Montessori School is a co-educational Montessori private school located in the heart of Aurora, Ontario on 14 acres of natural conservation lands. AMS delivers robust Montessori programming to students aged Toddler to Grade 8 in a 36,000 sq. ft facility with multiple state-of-the-art playground areas, an outdoor amphitheatre and outdoor classroom, and a gymnasium with a performance stage, and so much more.

Aurora Montessori School is seeking experienced and organized Montessori educators to supply teach in our Casa – Grade 8 classrooms. We seek dynamic, kind-hearted teachers who love children and whose primary goal is to nurture and inspire each child’s individuality. The ideal candidate will develop their students’ unique learning needs with care and thoughtfulness while incorporating a holistic and balanced approach to teaching that includes strong academics and the development of social/emotional skills. AMS teachers are committed, personable and welcoming and have the ability to competently reach out to their students and families, creating relationships of mutual trust and respect.
This position is ideal for Montessori educators looking to work part-time and flexibly for the 2024-2025 academic year.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
-Montessori Early Childhood (2.5 – 6 years) Diploma or Elementary Diploma (6-12 years) from a MACTE accredited or AMI training centre
-Follow the school’s policies and procedures
-Maintain a tidy, orderly, prepared classroom environment
-Self-starter with high energy, flexibility, initiative, and the ability to multi-task
-Experience working collaboratively as part of a team
-Excellent interpersonal skills
-Strong oral and written skills
-Current Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)
-Current Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
-Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and assistants to deliver a robust and authentic Montessori curriculum
-Facilitate learning experiences that support the individualized learning needs of all students
-Develop a safe, caring, and engaging learning environment that is grounded in AMS’ core values of respect, inclusivity, inquisitiveness, and kindness
-Monitor, provide feedback and assess student learning using a range of tools and strategies
-Communicate effectively and regularly with colleagues, students, and their families (as required)
